Cross-Compatibility in Interspecific Hybridization of Different Curcuma Accessions

Curcuma is extensively cultivated as a medicinal and ornamental plant in tropical subtropical regions. Due to the bright bract color, distinctive inflorescence long blooming period, it has become new favorite terms of urban landscape, potted flowers cut flowers. However, little research on breeding cultivars using traditional methods available genus Curcuma. In present study, pollen viability stigma receptivity evaluation were performed, genetic relationship 38 accessions was evaluated, then 5 C. alismatifolia Gagnep. (Ca), 2 hybrid (Ch), sparganiifolia 4 native species selected parents for subsequent interspecific cross-breeding.
